The Thing

This image a movie poster cover for the 1982 Film the thing in the top is says "The ultimate in alien terror." Giving me the impression that women are to be feared more then men.
Why are there no women in the movie?
The reason there are no women in the movie is that they are trying to show that men are a dominant force. All the men are trying to survive while the Thing is trying to assimilate them. The Thing represents all the women we get this sense when the Thing is trying to attack the dog at that moment it looks like a vagina trying to absorb the dog in.
What is the significance of its ability to take over people?
The ability to assimilate it self represents the ability of birth. It can not do it alone just like a women can't make a baby without a mans sperm. It need someones dna to be able to reproduce. This ability to reproduce seems terrifying in the movie.
Ma Vie En Rose

In the image you see ludo dressed as snow white trying to get a kiss from his neighbor.
How do you define gender?
In normal speech gender is defined by a persons biological oragans. In social science is defined as some ones behaviors, characteristics... . The social science definition was created to be able to distinguish someone who was born one gender but mentally was another.
Is Ludos identity a result from external influences or was he truely born with the mentality of a a girl?
I beleive it is a mixture of both just like nature vs nurture. When your born you have no sense of self as get older you develop a sense of self your nature might tell you one thing but your external influences would tell you antoher. Ludo was heavily influenced by Pam. If Pam had not have been there I don't beleive Ludo would have been a transgender. He idolized Pam he wished he could be just like her but if she was not there what would be his influence to be a boygirl.
Rear Window

In this picutre you see Jeff paying attention to his neighbor but no attention to Lisa.
What is the signifcance of the camera in the movie?
The camera is Jefferies movie screen into his neighbors lives. Without the camera he wouldn't be able to get a good look at them also becuase he does not see Lisa through the camera he does not see her as something he desires. Kind of like a movie theater you don't go to see the guy accross from you, you go to see the movie because of this Jeff seems to have no eroctic desire for Lisa.
What makes Jeff start seeing Lisa as someone he desires?
It is not till Lisa goes over and snoops around Mr. Thorwalds apartment that he sees her as someone he desires. As Lisa is snooping Jeff is watching her through his camera he starts seeing her with erotic desire.
